Daddy’s Mac and Cheese August 11, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Greta @ 9:00 pm

Tonight I made my father’s mac and cheese.  Spam and all!  I love it!  Zachary loves it and even Kylie!  Melody still refuses to eat most food out there but she did try orange juice today!  :)   So here are the photos.  If you are interested in the recipe let me know.  It is very simple!

Birthdays!! July 28, 2009

Filed under: Birthday, Kylie, Melody, Party time, crazyness, daily life, family, kiddos, photos — Greta @ 6:07 pm

The girls birthday’s being only six days apart we usually celebrate with one party.  This year we invited several of the girls friends but many couldn’t come.  But the ones who did show up had a great time.  We had chips, dip, punch, cake and punch balloons!  The kids ran around the apt. and the lawn and had a blast!  Afterward we went to my friends house and went swimming so it was a great end to the busy day.  My friend Stephanie took almost all of these pictures for me so I could concentrate on the party and opening the presents with the girls.  Thanks Steph!

My favorite photos are the last few with the girls playing with Kylie’s new tea set on their new fold out couch/bed out on the lawn.

Melody is now five years old!  Kylie is three years old!  Where did the years go??  They definately do grow up way too fast!

I was just putting the girls down for bed  and suddenly we hear some strange sounds from outside.  It is squeaking but we can’t place what on earth would be making these sounds.  I send Zachary downstairs to turn on the outside light out back.  I have seen something moving around by our patio table and can’t figure out what it is….so suddenly the light is on and sure enough it is two skunks!  I am not positive what they are doing until I come downstairs and see them up close and personal.  They are maybe five feet away from my back door and it appears to me that they are mating.  You judge for yourselves.   The first few photos are through the glass of the back door..then I opened the door and took a photo through the screen and then opened that and they didn’t seem to mind me being there and went along with their own business.  I was laughing and fearing getting sprayed at the same time.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! July 14, 2009

Filed under: Kylie, Memories, being cute, family, kiddos, photos — Greta @ 8:05 pm

Well today my baby turned THREE!  I can’t believe it has been three  years since she joined our family.  She is such a little spit fire that either she is making me crack up or getting into trouble.  She never sits still for long so watch out for this little monkey!  (Oh no sorry..Little Ape as she doesn’t have a tail!  …name that tune!)

Here she is at the beginning….

Kylie - Me - prego

Me ready to go in to have Kylie.  Boy was I huge!

Kylie - first born and bloody

Seconds after being pulled from my belly.  (The Dr and the nurses said she had the longest umbilical cord ever! About 6 feet long!)

Kylie - Me holding her in recovery

This was the first time I got to hold her!  She was my biggest baby at 8lbs 5oz.

Kylie - Little baby face

My little peanut.  She had a slight case of jaundice so she was a bit reddish orangey yellow..lol.

Kylie - dressed in pink

One of her first outfits, the sleeves were too long but it otherwise fit perfectly.

Kylie - ready to go home

This is Kylie just moments before we were to head home.  Four days old.

I love this little dress!

This was first thing this morning.  She is such the little ham when I am trying to take pictures!

I love this picture because it shows her innocence.

She was saying..look at me.. I am big! (It was a little chilly out when we got up..that is why she is wearing long sleeves.)

Sisters, sisters….

They are just growing up way too fast!

Kylie Noel, I love you with all of my heart.  You are my sunshine on a cloudy day and my laughter in the dark.

You always know how to make me smile and give the best bear hugs EVER!

Love you always and forever, Mommy

I Believe Bunny July 14, 2009

I believe Bunny

After receiving this book through Thomas Nelson Book Review Bloggers I fell in love.  It is such a sweet story of  I Believe Bunny who believes in God and all that He can create and do for the world.  The day begins raining and I Believe Bunny is soggy and down but asks God for the rain to end soon.  He hears a sound and discovers a little mouse in the river who can’t swim.  I Believe Bunny may be small but he sets his fear aside and in his belief he has the strength to save Little Mouse.  Kids will learn that nothing is impossible.  My daughters who are only four and two loved the story and leaning that through your belief in God anything is possible.  The illustrations are amazing and draw you into the story even more.  I belive that this story will be a favorite for many years to come.  I may have to start buying this one as a baby shower gift if any more of my friends have babies!  :)

The other day while outside playing the girls both layed down on the grass and told me I needed to take their picture.

So I did..and this just amazes me just how much alike they look in this photo.  I know that they are like twins born two

years apart but boy oh boy this photo really does show it.  They are both very excited about the coming days as three of

their cousins are coming for a visit for the 4th of July!  Millions of photos soon to follow from the family adventures ahead!DSC_0073
