As a reviewer for Thomas Nelson Book Reviews ( http://brb.thomasnelson.com ) I got a chance to read From Peanuts to the Pressbox and found it to be quite interesting.

I had always associated Eli Gold with Nascar and had never realized how many different sports he has been involved with in his career. Football, baseball, hockey, basketball, nascar, college basketball and college football! This book describes in vivid detail the highs and the lows associated with a crazy, hectic announcers lifestyle. Many humorous anecdotes are sprinkled throughout the book. Two things I didn’t like were the timeline wasn’t always straight throughout and sort of jumped around a bit. Also, very often a picture associated with a particular story finds its way onto a page ten pages after the story. It would have been helpful to have the actual photos directly along with the stories or in one complete section in the back. I loved all the funny stories he shares about all the famous people he has met over the years. Such as Neil Armstrong, Bear Bryant, Jeff Gordon (a favorite of mine), Dale Earnhardt and Bob Costas! The stories he can tell just have you laughing so hard you are crying! Traveling on buses, staying in many hotel rooms and travleing around the entire country throughout the many years of being an announcer. I give this book 4 stars! Get it for the sports enthusiast in your family for Christmas!

This year Kylie had the option of being a ladybug or Snow White.  Melody choose to be Snow White.  An hour before we left Kylie said she wanted to be a ladybug.  So I pulled that costume out ..again.  Then when I was about to get her dressed she changed her mind again and decided to be Snow White!  What a crazy hour of the day that was!  So in the end I had two Snow White girls and they LOVED IT!  I bought them some capes online that are all sparkly and they loved having those on too.  I should have taken a photo from behind!  The dress Kylie is wearing was hand made by my mother in-law several years ago for her own daughters.  It was wonderful to be able to have it for Kylie to wear and she loved her dress!  Thank you Patty!  Melody loved wearing her dress-up Snow White dress for the night because it was all poofy and sparkly!  She has been wearing that cape every day since it was delivered!  At the end of the night the girls put on their new Halloween jammies and got to enjoy another treat or two before bed.  Tooth brushing and tucking in happened very early for Kylie though as she decided it was time for her to go to sleep early that night.  She must have just used up so much energy all night long that she finally realized it was time.  She went up and Zachary helped her brush her teeth and he tucked her into bed.  She didn’t even want Peter or myself!  She does love her big brother!  Melody got to stay up to her normal bedtime and enjoyed the time with just Peter and I for awhile before bed.  Zachary decided that since he is now 13 he was too old to be dressing up but he came with us anyway and still got candy!  He wasn’t dissapointed there!  Thank you to all of our family members who went out to get candy for the kids.  They love it! 

These are just a few of my favorite photos from the past few months put together into one collage.  I love taking these and making them the desktop background on my computer with those little smiling faces staring back at me.  I love my kiddos! 

I received “What’s He Really Thinking?” to review and thought..wow..I will finally be able to understand my husband and not always wonder why he does the things he does. After starting this book I was really not drawn into it and it was a very hard read. If you are one looking for an answer..yeah maybe you might find something but personally it was a waste of time for me. I honestly didn’t learn a thing about my husband or myself in reading this book. It was a total disappointment. With the author, Paula Rinehart, being a counselor I kind of expected some babble and rambling of brain waves and hormones but honestly I had the hardest time just getting through this book. 169 pages of book and then a section in the back where it has questions you can ask your other half or father, friend, brother..whoever it is you want to get to understand better that is the male species. So to me it was like a school book and bored me to the point of putting it down and forgetting about it.  If you have problems or wonder about your husband, father or brother then just try to open up communication and take care of it yourself.  Don’t bother spending your money on this book.
